Resin Boxes, Phone Stands and Plant Holders: Home Decor Moulds
Resin isn’t only for jewellery. With the right resin box mould or decor mould, you can make trinket boxes, phone stands and plant holders that are useful every day. This Haanz Art Guide covers the home decor moulds we stock and how to assemble multi-part pieces neatly.
Storage and trinket boxes
Box moulds usually come in parts (a base and a lid) that you pour separately and fit together.
- Seashell Storage Box Silicone Mold D0060: a seashell-shaped box for jewellery and trinkets.
- Geometric Love Storage Box Silicone Mold D0065: a geometric box with a heart and love design.
- Makeup Box Silicone Mold D0050: a box for small cosmetics and dressing-table items.
Tip: pour the lid and base from the same mix so the colours match.
Phone holder
The Phone Holder Mold makes a resin desk stand. Pour it thick enough to hold a phone securely, and let it cure fully before use. A non-slip pad underneath stops it sliding.
Indoor plant holders
- In-door Plant Holder Mold, Small: a mould for a small resin stand.
- In-door Plant Bottles, 2 set: two decorative bottles for small plants and cuttings, made to pair with resin stands.
Water cuttings such as money plant look lovely in clear bottles on a colourful resin stand.
Candle-shaped and decorative pieces
- Candle Silicone Mold D0298 and Candle Silicone Mold D0297: candle-shaped moulds for decorative resin candles that never melt, nice with a small LED light beside them.
- Ornament, Crescent Horse Silicone Mold 9924815: a decorative ornament mould.

How to pour multi-part pieces
- Lay out all parts of the mould on a level board.
- Measure the total volume with water, then dry the moulds completely.
- Mix one batch of resin and colour for all parts, so they match.
- Fill thin parts first, such as lids and walls, then the base.
- Pop bubbles and cover with a box to keep dust off.
- Cure fully before demoulding; walls of boxes are thin and can bend if removed early.
- Sand the joining edges lightly so the lid sits flat, then assemble.
For glossy, scratch-free surfaces, see Drilling, Sanding and Polishing Resin.

Practical tips
- Keep resin boxes away from strong sun and heat.
- Don’t store food in resin boxes unless your resin is made for food contact.
- Wear gloves and work with good air flow. See Resin Safety.
Caring for silicone moulds
Silicone moulds last a long time if you look after them:
- Demould gently by flexing the silicone. Don’t pull pieces out with tools.
- Wipe moulds clean with a soft cloth or tape to lift dust. Don’t scrub with anything rough, or the shiny finish of future pieces will suffer.
- Store moulds flat, out of sunlight, and don’t stack heavy things on top, so they keep their shape.
- Keep a separate set of moulds for resin only. Food and resin should never share moulds.
