Mont Marte Acrylic Paints: Tube Sizes and Sets Explained

Mont Marte acrylic paints come in many sizes, from small 12ml set tubes to generous 75ml single tubes. Choosing the right size saves you running out of your main colours, or buying big tubes of colours you rarely use. This Haanz Art Guide explains the Mont Marte acrylic sizes and sets we stock and how to combine them.
Single tubes: 20ml and 75ml
20ml tubes are handy for topping up one colour or trying a new shade, and they are easy to carry to class. We stock Cobalt Blue, Orange and Lemon Yellow in 20ml.
75ml tubes suit colours you use often and bigger paintings. Mont Marte 75ml colours we stock include:
- Greens: Viridian (a cool, bluish green) and Monastral Green.
- Yellows and earths: Medium Yellow, Yellow Ochre and Raw Sienna.
- Reds and pinks: Crimson, Vermilion and Magenta.
- Blues and purples: Deep Cyan and Purple.
- Warm accent: Orange.
See all of them in Mont Marte Acrylics 75ml Tubes.
Sets with 12ml tubes
Small-tube sets are a simple way to start with a full palette:
- Mont Marte Acrylic Paints 12 x 12ml: 12 colours, a complete starter palette.
- Mont Marte Acrylic Paints 18 x 12ml: more colours for students who like variety.
- Mont Marte Acrylic Paints 24 x 12ml: a wide range in small tubes.
Sets with 36ml tubes
36ml tubes last much longer than 12ml tubes, which makes these sets good for regular painters:
- Mont Marte Signature Acrylic 18 x 36ml and Signature 24 x 36ml: balanced palettes in larger tubes.
- Mont Marte Acrylic Colour 36 x 36ml: 36 colours that can be used on canvas, cardboard and more, drying to a semi-matte finish.
- Pastel sets: 18 x 36ml, 24 x 36ml and 36 x 36ml of ready-mixed pastels for soft, modern artwork.

Which size should you choose?
- Trying acrylics for the first time: a 12 x 12ml set.
- Painting every week: a 36ml set, plus 75ml tubes of white and your most-used colours.
- Big canvases or murals: 75ml tubes of your main colours.
- Filling gaps in a set: 20ml tubes.
- Soft, dreamy styles: a pastel set alongside a regular set.
A common mistake is buying a large set and then running out of white in a week. Whatever you choose, buy extra white.
Tips for Mont Marte acrylics
- Squeeze out small amounts. Acrylic dries fast on the palette.
- Keep a spray bottle of water nearby to keep paint workable.
- Thin with a little water for washes; use it straight from the tube for thick, textured strokes.
- Mix greens from Viridian or Deep Cyan with yellows for natural landscape colours.
- Finish paintings with varnish to protect them. See How to Varnish an Acrylic Painting.

Frequently asked questions
Is a 12ml set enough for canvas painting?
For small canvases, yes. For larger canvases you will soon want bigger tubes of white and your main colours.
What is the difference between the Signature sets and the 36 x 36ml set?
Both use 36ml tubes. The Signature sets are balanced palettes with fewer, carefully chosen colours, while the 36 x 36ml set gives you a much wider range.
Can I mix Mont Marte tubes from different sets?
Yes. All Mont Marte acrylics are water-based and mix together.
Do you deliver islandwide?
Yes. We deliver across Sri Lanka in 2–5 working days, with cash on delivery, card or bank transfer. You can also visit our shops in Boralesgamuwa and Horana, open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM.
