Camlin Fabrica Acrylic 15ml Colours: A Shade-by-Shade Guide

Camlin Fabrica Acrylic 15ml -Crimson (062) - Haanz Sri Lanka
Haanz Art GuideFree, practical advice from the team at Haanz Art & Craft Materials

Camlin Fabrica acrylic colours come in small 15ml bottles, so you can buy exactly the shades you need for a school project, a craft or practice painting. This Haanz Art Guide goes through the colours we stock, explains what each one is good for and shows which bottles to pick first.

Why buy single 15ml bottles?

A set gives you a fixed choice of colours. Single bottles let you build your own palette. If your project needs lots of green, buy two greens. If you only need a touch of maroon for shadows, one small bottle is enough. Single bottles are also handy for topping up a colour that always runs out first, which for most students is white.

The Camlin Fabrica colours we stock

Here is each shade with its shade number, as printed on the bottle.

  • Crimson (062): a deep, cool red. Good for flowers, fruit and rich shadows in red objects.
  • Maroon (253): a dark red-brown. Useful for wood, deep shadows and traditional designs.
  • Pink (341): a ready-mixed pink for flowers, skies at sunset and cute craft work.
  • Orange (283): a bright orange for fruit, sunsets and warm highlights.
  • Lemon Yellow (236): a cool, fresh lemon yellow. Mix it with blue for bright greens.
  • Light Green (240): a light green for leaves in sunlight and fresh grass.
  • Deep Green (108): a dark, rich green for shadows in trees and foliage.
  • Ultramarine Blue (436): a deep, warm blue with a slight violet tone. Lovely for skies, water and mixing purples.
  • Burnt Sienna (031): a warm reddish-brown for earth, wood, skin tones and buildings.
  • Vandyke Brown (446): a dark brown for tree trunks, hair and deep earth tones.
  • White (478) and Black (016): the two colours you will use for lightening and darkening.

Which bottles to buy first

If you are starting from nothing, these six bottles can mix most colours:

  • Lemon Yellow
  • Crimson
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Burnt Sienna
  • White
  • Black

Add Deep Green and Light Green if you paint a lot of landscapes, and Pink or Orange if you want bright colours straight from the bottle. Our guide to a starter acrylic palette explains this in more detail.

Easy colour mixes

  • Bright green: Lemon Yellow with a little Ultramarine Blue.
  • Purple: Ultramarine Blue with a little Crimson. Add White for lilac.
  • Skin tone: White with a little Burnt Sienna and a touch of Lemon Yellow.
  • Soft grey: White with a little Black, or with Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna for a warmer grey.
  • Darker green without black: Deep Green with a little Crimson or Burnt Sienna.

Start with the lighter colour and add the darker one slowly. The colour mixing guide shows why these mixes work.

How to use acrylic from a bottle

  • Shake or stir the bottle before use so the colour is even.
  • Squeeze a small amount onto a palette. Acrylic dries quickly, so put out only what you need.
  • For smooth coverage, use the paint as it is. For thin, see-through layers, add a little water.
  • Wash brushes in water straight after painting. Dried acrylic is very hard to remove.
  • Close the cap tightly and wipe the bottle neck so it doesn’t stick shut.

Acrylic works on canvas, canvas board, thick paper and many craft surfaces. For help choosing between brands, read Acrylic Paints for Beginners in Sri Lanka.

Frequently asked questions

Are 15ml bottles enough for a school project?

For most A4 and A3 school paintings, yes, especially for colours you use in small amounts. Buy a second bottle of White, and of any colour you use for large areas such as sky or grass.

Can I mix Camlin Fabrica with other acrylic brands?

Acrylics from different brands usually mix well because they share the same binder type. Test a small mix first to check the colour.

How long does it take to dry?

Thin layers are usually touch-dry within minutes. Thicker layers take longer, depending on the weather.

Do you deliver islandwide?

Yes. We deliver across Sri Lanka in 2–5 working days, with cash on delivery, card or bank transfer. You can also visit our shops in Boralesgamuwa and Horana, open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM.
